A Yobe State High Court has yesterday issued an order following an ex-parte motion to stop one Alhaji Sani Inuwa Nguru from parading himself as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in the state with immediate effect pending the hearing of the plaintiffs/applicants motion.
The order follows a suit filed by Lawan Gana Karasuwa who is also claiming to be the PDP Chairman in the state along with 26 others.
The ex-parte order also ordered that the PDP, the Chairman PDP Caretaker Committee, the Inspector General of Police (IG), the INEC Chairman, the Director General of the State Security Services (SSS) and the Department of State Services not to recognize or deal with anyone in that regard except the plaintiffs/applicants until the motion on notice is heard.
In the motion order No. YBS/DT/HC/33M/2017, the presiding judge, Justice U.Z Mohammed ruled that the 1st defendant/respondent (Sani Inuwa Nguru) and any other person is hereby restrained from parading him/themselves as the chairman or state executive committee of PDP in the state pending the determination of the plaintiff/applicants motion on notice.
The judge final said “The 2nd-6th defendants are prohibited from recognizing or dealing with other persons other than plaintiffs/applicants pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice”
