Kehinde Olamide Ogunwumiju is the youngest among the list of 30 lawyers’ shortlisted for the conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN only at age 37. He is 12 years post-call and had dedicated his post call years to active advocacy and personal development. He is a partner in the law firm of Afe Babalola & Co.
Kehinde Olamide Ogunwumiju was born on December 24th 1981 to Justice Helen Moronkeji Ogunwumiju of the Court of Appeal and Late Pharmacist Festus Kokumo Ogunwumiju.
He started his early years in Ibadan at Omolewa nursery and primary school and proceeded to international School Ibadan for secondary education. He graduated from the University of Ibadan in 2004 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2005.
He proceeded to the Northumbria University in England for his masters and graduated in 2007.
He started his career as a Corp Member in AFe Babalola chambers (Ibadan office) and later moved to the Abuja office and rose to the Enviable position of a Partner in Afe Babalola Chambers. He has since been involved in active litigation. His areas of specialty include appeals, arbitration, criminal litigation and election petitions.
Olamide is married to Tara Ogunwumiju and they are blessed with a Son.
He was conferred with the mostly coveted rank of Senior Advocate of
Nigeria on 18th September, 2017 at the Ceremonial Court Room, Supreme Court, Abuja.
He was congratulated by Arthur Obi Okafor, SAN, who revealed that he is delighted that young lawyers are showing resourcefulness and firm understanding of the law. He further urged young lawyers to be committed, focused, disciplined and do not despise the days of rough beginning, that if the persist in practice, they too will be celebrated by their peers.
