The National Youth Leader of the KOWA party, Jude Feranmi, has stated that “youths are the leaders of today and not tomorrow”. He revealed this on 11 October, 2017 at the National Student’s Legislative Conference organized by the Law Students’ Representative Council (LSRC) at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Osun State.
He urged Nigerian youths not to be misled by the current political dispensation of the country, affirming that Nigeria has had a number of heads of state who were youths during their regimes.
The conference which was themed “Building and Sustaining Viable Youths for Nation Building: The Role of Parliamentarians” was also graced by the following personalities: Engr. Yusuf Yabagi Sani, the Chairman of the Action Democratic Party; Dr Sam Nda-Isaiah, Chairman, Leadership Newspaper Group; Olanipekun Ifedayo Esq., a former LSRC speaker, OAU Chapter; Oba Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, Oluwo of Iwoland.
Sani, while speaking, stated that the multi-party system in Nigeria can be a catalyst for meaningful political development and good governance in Nigeria as it encourages opposition politics to eliminate tyranny and impunity.
Finally, Oba Rasheed Akanbi on his side vehemently restated that corruption is the enemy of national progress and youths must rise ensure that any political party that does not have anti-corruption as an agenda does not get voted into power.
