Mrs. Ososami (LL.B, University of Jos), LL.M (Lond.), BL (Nigeria) brings deep expertise in tax and broad corporate and commercial experience in foreign investment finance and oil and gas to the firm’s corporate practice.. Lolade is a seasoned commercial lawyer with decades of experience in foreign investment, corporate law & finance, oil & gas and taxation. Lolade represents a wide range of clients comprising multinational corporations, banks, institutional investors, government parastatals and companies operating in various sectors.

Renowned for her expertise in taxation, Lolade has advised extensively on the fiscal provisions of production sharing contracts in the oil industry; she has advised extensively on the tax implications of gas utilization projects including CNG and LNG projects; she has advised on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions and cross-border joint ventures. Lolade has handled various corporate restructurings and divestitures; she is experienced at conducting due diligence on targets and was part of a team of lawyers that advised a group of investors in the acquisition of a Nigerian commercial bank. A SEC registered solicitor, Lolade has advised on the structuring and issue of securities and other hybrid instruments. She is experienced at advising foreign investors in forming joint ventures and establishing start-ups in Nigeria. Lolade has a proven track record in advising on the tax and finance aspects of diverse commercial transactions. This exposure to a myriad of transactions has broadened her scope of experience as a commercial lawyer.

Lolade began her law career as an in-house counsel in 1993 with oil producing company in Nigeria before going into full-blown legal practice in 1996. She obtained her LL.B from University of Jos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991. She obtained her LL.M in Corporate and Commercial Law, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Investment Law from University of London. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in International Taxation from Robert Kennedy College, Switzerland, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. Lolade is a member of the Taxation and Energy & Natural Resources Committees of the International Bar Association. She is certified by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education of the Nigerian Bar Association as an accredited mandatory education provider in Tax and Corporate Law. Lolade has written many papers and published articles on the subject of taxation and foreign investment.

With over twenty years cognate experience Mr. Ajakpovi (LL.B, University of Benin), LL.M.(Boston), BL (Nigeria) has joined the firm’s intellectual property, media and entertainment and dispute resolution teams. Mena is a tirelessly astute legal practitioner with over twenty years’ experience in intellectual property law, dispute resolution, broadcasting, media and entertainment law. Mena is involved in various commercial transactions in these specified areas and more.

Mena has advised on transactions of national and transnational dimensions and is widely sought after for his acute insight and analysis of complex situations both on the negotiating

table and amongst colleagues. His practical experience is drawn from his relentless involvement in proffering solutions for clients at cross roads or in very difficult positions. Mena has extensive experience in all aspects of corporate and commercial litigation. He has represented clients in disputes relating to contracts; maritime; enforcement of foreign judgments; infringement of intellectual property rights; labour and employment disputes; and much more.

Mena is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration United Kingdom, a Fellow of the Centre for International Legal Studies Austria. He obtained his LL.B. from University of Benin and has a Masters LLM in International Business Law from the Suffolk Law School Boston. He is a member of the Council of the Nigerian Bar Association and a member of the International Bar Association. He is frequently engaged as a speaker and resource person in various forums. He sits on the board of several international companies operating in West Africa especially Nigeria. He is a Notary Public
