The Section on Legal Practice of the Nigerian Bar Association (SLP NBA) has concluded plans to hold its 2018 Annual Conference in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
The conference is scheduled to hold from Thursday 12th to Friday 13th of April, 2018 and is themed “Re-thinking and Re-tooling legal practice for the challenges of our time”.
According to NBA General Secretary, Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, the Conference will not only give lawyers the opportunity to discuss continuing professional development issues but also discuss a broad range of topics covering disciplinary issues, problems impeding lawyers’ fee earning capabilities, election matters, effective prosecution of white collar and economic crimes etc.
Members of the SLP can download the SLP membership form here, fill, and scan same with proof of payment (teller) to email@example.com. Forms not accompanied by the tellers or proof of payment will not be treated.
The objectives of the Section On Legal Practice (SLP) are clearly stated in Article 1 of the Section Bye Laws as follows:
To promote the exchange of information and views among individual members of the Section and other like-minded bodies as to the laws, practices and procedures affecting the Section locally and internationally.
To assist members to develop and improve their legal services to the public.
To undertake such related activities as may be approved by the Section’s council from time to time.
To promote and provide Continuing Legal Education.
Membership is open to any member of the Nigerian Bar Association upon satisfactory completion of the Registration Form and the payment of the Section dues.
