Pressure group, Socio-Economic Right and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure the probe of Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, after video clips of the governor allegedly collecting kickbacks from contractors were released on the internet.
In an open letter signed by its Senior Legal Adviser, Ms Bamisope Adeyanju, SERAP stated, “The obligations of your (President Buhari’s) government to combat corruption in Nigeria extend to all the three tiers of government, namely: the Federal Government, state government and local government.”
The group stated that although the issue concerned Kano State, and not necessarily the Federal Government, the Federal Government could not afford to look away. It threatened to file a case in court if it request to probe Governor Ganduje within 14 days is not approved.
