The Lawyard Discourse on Energy is an interactive session on relevant legal and commercial issues around electricity distribution. The topic for discussion is ‘Understanding the Business of Electricity Distribution’.
The facilitators are Abdulazeez Momodu, a Senior Legal Adviser at Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDP) and Ibrahim Yahaya, a Partner at emerging commercial law firm, Paragon Advisors. The panel session will be moderated by Uyi Oigiagbe, a Solicitor with Detail Commercial Solicitors.
The Discourse will provide an overview of the operations of electricity distribution companies and the role of legal advisers within the company as well as an overview of the regulatory framework for electricity distribution in Nigeria.
The panel session will also also touch on the following:
Tariffs; Estimated Billing; Metering; the Meter Asset Provider (MAP) Regulations 2018; Electricity Theft; Public awareness about the electricity industry; and Consumer Protection in the electricity industry.
The event will take place on the 8th of December 2018, by 3pm at the Lekki Innovation Centre, 29 Awudu Ekpegha Street, Lekki Phase 1 Off Admiralty Way, Lekki.
